Excellent furniture making! I agree with Simon, it is all the little details that really bring dioramas like this to life, so it's worth the effort IMO.

Hi Nigel,
Thank you, I made a couple of other bits and will add more today. I need to make some 1/35 scale books, so racking my brains as what to use.
cheers
Richie

Hi All,
I have decided to move the position of the bureau in front of the central Para as a barricade. I have also made a 2 seater sofa to prop up the floor section behinds the central Para's.
I think this looks better. I have made a bookcase that will be leaning over in the back corner to replace the bureau. Now to make an appropriate amount of scattered books!
cheers
Richie

Hi Richie or should that be Mr Ikea ( other furniture stores are avail 🤡 )

I just echo the praise others have said ....really coming together , the sofa is a good touch ....perhaps a rip on cushions , weathered with dust ?

Figures looking good in place , very natural as well

Thanks for updates

Have fun with the books ( are dolls house ones too big ? )

Happy furnishings

Hi Nap,
Thank you, yes the cushions are now ripped and will be suitably dusty when painted. I've made 6 books, dolls house stuff tends to be 1/12 scale.
Cheers Richie

Hi All,
I have finished to the sofa, made it a 2 seater red leather and sited it. Also done the table, bureau and bookshelf. I have a load of timber undercoated, six books done and I have found a radio and phonograph that I will add to the scene.
I now need to concentrate on the last 5 Para's. I have to finish these before laying down anymore groundwork.
cheers
Richie

Loving those books and the gramophone. Those kind of things really enhance the realism of the scene. Great progress here.

Hi Richie

Nice work on the sofa and other furniture, looks good in position

This is a great project and will look even more when everything’s done

Thanks for the updates

Have fun @ the bench

Hi Nigel, Ski & Nap,
Thank you all so much for the continued support.

This is were I stand after todays mammoth session. The bren gunner is finished and sited along with the highest kneeling rifleman and all the groundwork around them. I have also made the position for the kneeling figure next to the rifleman.
The back left hand corner is finished and the gramophone added to the foreground.

Three figures left to finish along with the groundwork and weathering.
cheers
Richie

wow that's got to be the most convincing debris I've ever seen in a model.
Full marks , sir!
Hi Neil,
Thank you so much for the high praise. You want to see the debris on me.
Fingers that will need a serious scrubbing, paint all down my T-shirt and tracky bottoms, never mind the rug in the conservatory that she hasn't seen yet.
I'm gonna get battered more than the 10th did.
Cheers Richie
P.S. see art does have it's sacrifices. Ouch.
