Back in the 1980s I bought and painted a few of the figures from this French manufacturer, 54mm in metal. I have 3 on my shelf: Compagnie Franche de la Marine, Arquebusier de Grassin and a mounted oboe player from the Maison du Roi. The brand has long since vanished it would seem, but I wondered whether anyone out there has any of these figures in their grey army which they might be willing to sell or trade. PM me if you can help. Many thanks.

Art Miniature still has a website and appears to be active, though I have yet to get a reply to my email inquiries. I have not tried calling them.

Here is the site:

http://www.figurine-artminiature.com/index.php?lang=en

A couple of years ago, the site was re-launched, and it is hosted by a company in Madagascar, of all places. I don't know if that has anything to do with the lack of replies. It used to be hosted by a French Internet service provider.

I'm interested in the 18th century figures they make, especially the civilian vignettes. I have only one Art Miniature figure, a French Marechaussee circa 1760, currently in progress. I found that one on eBay. Sorry, not letting it go :)

Prost!

Thanks for the reply, Brad. Have had a look at the site and they are clearly still in business, as you say. Prices are a bit steep though at 60 Euros for what I presume is a 54mm figure. I might send them a message and see what response I get. Will copy you in if I get anything back.

The prices for figures in kit :

This figurines are sculpted by a French and made in Madagascar, so you can have VAT and custom taxes... Perfaps ;)

60E might be the price for the painted foot figure, painted with acrylics. I recall seeing prices scaled for unpainted kits; painted with various media (eg, acrylics, oils); and for foot figures versus mounted figures or figures with a horse, for the vignette sets, etc, etc. I want to say that that info was presented with the photo of any given piece. The newer version of the site isn't as easy to follow and I haven't yet found the info to confirm my memory.

Prost!
