Hey Guys,

I have made a complete 2-part article on how to use and manipulate pigments for the Michigan Toy Soldier Blog.
Seeing that most people only use 1% oof pigment capacity, which is just a "dusting" effect on models, VMS makes a whole range of chemicals and binders that let's you handle pigment as any medium, like pure paint, textures, streaks, grime, washes, filters, mud, and so on.

VMS is the only player in the market that has these solutions to manipulate pigments, and they are superb to work with.

On the first part of the article I show you all their range of pigment and textures, a single pigment color can have up to 9 options alone, which means color rendering control and texture options (zero, fine and coarse). It's a very complete platform to work with, and I use pigments as my primary weathering tool for years now, thanks to VMS. All my figures are weathered using pigments, as you can see on many examples I showed in the first part of the article.

On the second part I show you guys how to manipulate the pigments and use them as streaking, filters, textured mud, textured rust, subtle rust, dusting and so on. Please remember also that pastel chalks are NOT pigments. And we can reverse the process at any time if needed.

Here is the link for the second part of the article :

Thanks Julian,
These are great articles and I look forward to trying the techniques out. I had been reading about the VMS products on their website but seeing the results and reading about how you have used them will really help.
Best

Thanks Gerry !

VMS is the most advanced brand in auxiliary products I know to date. I have been lucky to try their products for almost 4 years now, and also helped develop others (beta testing) and on Michtoy's blog I wrote dozens of articles about their products.

Take a look at my "section" of the blog and maybe you can find a in depth review of a product you might be looking for. Stay tuned on the blog for upcoming reviews too, I am receiving 2 new VMS products in the next few days to try it out and write about it.

Hi!

Anyone knows of VMS products being sold in Europe? Do they have some suppliers here?

Thanks!

Cheers!

Thanks a lot for the prompt reply, Julian! (y)

I was under the impression that VMS was a US manufacturer... Their website address ends with .com, which usually is indicative of a US based site.

Anyway, I'll contact them and see how it works.

Thanks again!

Cheers!

EDIT: Funny, just noticed now on their Contact form page that indeed they do have their address in Poland! Good! ;)
