Hi Everyone.

Well the Atlanta show is fast approaching. Here are a few reminders
AND more information on what will be happening.

Don't forget WE HAVE MOVED TO A NEW HOTEL.
THE MARRIOTT CENTURY CENTER.

The deadline for reservations is February 4th. Mention AMFS and get
the special show rate of $89.00 a night. The rooms are filling up and if
you try to reserve a room after the 4th. The rate will be higher.

Please remember we have a new category : FANTASY

The first 200 participants, will receive a 3 pack Reaper paint set.

We have some great seminars on Saturday:

Anders Heintz Sculpting Historical Miniatures
Each attendee will receive, at no cost, a 4+ hour DVD produced by
Anders and a "starter kit" Anders has put together.

Panel Discussion. This seminar will be led by Jon Harbuck. The panel
will consist of Grand Masters, experienced and well known painters in the
hobby. I think most of you saw Matt Springer's post earlier.
We will have in the registration area paper and pens for anyone that
would like to submit a question to the panel. Those questions will be
dropped in a container and pulled out before the Panel discussion starts.

Rob Ervin of "Formations" will be doing a seminar on " Resin Casting".

Last but not least.

NEW for AMFS 2011

Meet the Artist

This year the Atlanta Model Figure Show is offering the “Meet the Artist” program to all Exhibitors. The program is designed to allow spectators and attendees an opportunity to meet the Exhibitors and discuss their work during the show.

Anyone interested in participating is asked to pick up a “Meet the Artist” place-card at the Registrations desk or at the Awards Display table and note the date and time during the show the Exhibitor can be at his exhibit to discuss his or her worK

Just place your card next to your exhibit

I like this idea of "Meet the Artist". How many times do you have
to go looking for someone you would like to talk to and ask questions.
OR.. if your fairly new to the hobby and you don't know who some of
these painters are... well now you will know. Remember anyone can
participate.

Sorry this is such a long post. Hope to see everyone there.
Not too many of you said you were coming in our other post.
Soooooo let's see a show of hands again.... or post... who will be in Atlanta

meet the artist is such a great idea. I need to suggest this to the Tulsa Show people. You can count me in to participate.

Hi Gordy, Your welcome... thanks for a great forum to post on

Mike: Glad you like the idea. I think it would be great for the
Tulsa show. It's nice to put a face to a name. So many people
would be happy to share tips and techniques with others. Also
some people are shy and don't want to approach someone. So
this opens the door for that.
You can do it several times during the show... so please remember
that.. and I would like to meet you and see your work.
I went to the Tulsa show once a couple years back. I may have
seen you but didn't know your name. So look forward to seeing you
in Atlanta.

Hey for the "Anders Heintz Sculpting Historical Miniatures" seminar, do you have to sign up for it in advance? Is there and extra fee?

Thanks

Tor

Hi Tor,

No... there is no sign up... and there is no fee. It is a free
seminar. The seminar room is much larger so there should
be enough seats.. but I think this is one that will be S.R.O.
(standing room only). So best to get there early and claim
a seat.

Look forward to seeing you there.

Dee

Hi Everyone,

Well our show is just 4 days away.
Those of you that have made reservations should have
received an email from the Marriott confirming and it
also has some great links also.

The weather should be great.. mid 60's through Saturday.

If anyone has any questions.. let us know.

Otherwise we will see you Friday night.

Thanks
Dee

Woohoo! Getting excited about heading down for the show! I just finished up a last piece today and got some smokin' pics taken. Looking forward to seeing folks there and talkin' figure!

Just to give you guys another quick little 'overview'

When you come into the hotel.. there will be a hallway to the
left.. down that hall will be where the show is..well at the
end of the hallway.

Friday night we will have someone standing by to direct you
and to help with any questions.

For pre-registers... you can keep moving down the hallway..
for those that need forms filled out.. there will be a place
for you there in the hallway.
When you get down to the end of the hallway.. it will open up
and there will be a line for pre-register. folks and a line for non.

We will have someone in the exhibit/display room to help direct you
to the tables.. etc. Also.. AMPS / armor will be in that same room.
The AMPS guys will have a registration table in the same area as ours.
Your choice if you want your armor in the AMPS side or figure side.

There will be some folks with "staff" t-shirts on.. so stop us if
you have any questions or concerns. We will be glad to help you out.

Counting the days.... Friday will be here in no time.
See everyone then.

Dee

Hi Everyone,

Is there any that has sent in pre-registration and has not gotten
anything back from us ???

Please let me know.

As we have mentioned before, we have had some Post Office
issues and we thought they were resolved.

Thanks.. see you in a few days.

Dee

Hi everyone.

Tomorrow is show night.... Hope your all
getting excited about it.

The weather in atlanta will have a high of 70/71 and
a low in the mid 50's. So great weather for a show.
It should stay this way all weekend.

Hope everyone travels safely.

See you all tomorrow night.

Dee

Thanks for a great show, I had a blast and it was really great to meet everyone. Thanks again and hopefully see you next year!

I had to leave for the airport before the awards presentation so I don't know what happened. There were a ton of great works to feast the eyes upon and the vendor area was loaded with lots of great stuff. Oh, and we all drank too much on friday and saturday :)
