A Fixture
I am no weather man, but according to the Weather Channel Thursday's forecast through Monday does not include any bad weather here in the Gateway City of the South. Temps are to be in the low 50 to high 40 range with some wind and partly cloudy skies.
Last night, we did have some bad weather, but that is now behind us. So folks look ahead to better weather and witnessing two shows for the price of one in Atlanta. The AMFS group is pulling out all the stops and the show will be starting on Friday evening when the doors open for registration at 7 PM EST.
The Waffle House is cooking up the grits now... Show Chairman Pete Garrison has recovered from a state of weather depression...The staff at the Crowne Plaza Atlanta at Powers Ferry are organizing their staffs to prepare the rooms...The Atlanta Club Hospitality Room folks are doing their shopping today for snacks, soft drinks and a collection of the finest beverages to grace a hospitality room...The AMFS Show Set Up Group are flexing their muscles in preparation of setting up the risers and tables in the main viewing rooms on Friday afternoon...The AMPS staff headed by Mike Reeves are preparing for their first big show in Atlanta...local hobby shop, Triple AAA Hobbies, are eager to supply and order what you can't find at the show...The AMFS Registration team headed by Joe Singletary are sharpening their pencils and arranging their registration forms in advance...Chuck Robinson of the Red Lancers is working his way down from the cold, frigid North to the Sunny South... local painter and AMFS member, Ron Wehrman is completing his 5th figure of the week while watching Regis and Kelly...Treasurer, Dee Moore is busy minting more CSA Dollars to circulate among the Yankee Dollars at the upcoming show...Club Member Dave Oswalt is caught on tape confiscating more illegal contraband cigars from illegal workers as a member of the local Tobacco and Fireman's Committee for the hospitality room…Club Vendor Chairman, Lou Coroso, declines the 25th call from Dahlonega's Flea Market King for a table at the Atlanta event. And saves his breath, as he has already told him he need not load up the truck several times since January 1st. Lou can hear himself still saying, "Sir there are no vendor tables left, period! And no I can not accept a bribe, a portion of your federally promised stimulus package nor a personal shopping spree at Bill's Bargain Barn in Cumming"... And the Atlanta Club waits to welcome all to the 32nd Annual Atlanta Model Figure Society Show! See you in Atlanta on February 20th!!!
