Starting with the book......

No more then two words at a time.........
I first airbrushed the book with several colors of off-white, adding more brown. Next step was airbrushing the book with matt varnish hoping the very thin paint would flow easier into the letters. That workes quit nice, using red, green, gold and black.
To be continued, thanks for looking.

Wow. That is different, lots of different textures to recreate. Good luck and looking forward to see this unfold.

Good luck with this one. Looks like this book is tht greatest challenge and you are off to a good start.

Yep, the book casting is great...the figures however.....

I've been working on them in order to get a good a dry fit since these two lovers are heave(n)ly attached.
The most I said was :censored::cry::sour: but rest asure they will be "as one" ...

First the setting, needs more work but this is the general idea

I'm going to add 1/35 scale roses to the boook to give it a more 3D-look.
The cover of the book is painted using oils, or better, I didn't paint it, I dabbed ( is that the right word??) the paint on the cover using an eyeshadow applicator after I gave it a base coat acryl light brown to fill the lower areas.
It turned out to be the best way to get the texture on the leather, so the 'leather-look' and, in the same time, prevent the lower area's.
Used different colors of brown during the proces. The paint has to dry first before I can add more light to the spine of the book to make it look more 'worn'.
I've been thinking about filling the lower area's with gold paint but, after looking at some pictures of ancient books on Google decided not to do so.

Thanks for looking.

Lovely work on this!!
The book looks great
Can you tell me the issues with the figures, casting quality, fit issues as I am thinking about getting this one

Getting the both figures really "fit together" in their romantic embracement needs some cutting snd sanding.
I will have to use some Magic Sculpt to make a tight fit. Furthermore I did use some AV plastic putty to cover up some airbubble-holes on the knight. No big problems but it needs some work. I've noticed that many, quit expensive, figures are, though sculpted fantastic, not always casted very well. I wonder why.

This is a slow proces but we'll get there. Adding the swords and same vegetation to the book and...working on the roses ( Fredericus Rex Gl-119 ). Might anybody wonder what the gold metal logo on the bookmarker is.......well that's a left over from a 1/35 bike from MB, I think it was the bike-logo :joyful:
