Rivalling Model Expo as Australia's biggest hobby show, Queensland Model Hobbies Expo is on again.
More traders, more competition categories. Don't forget to come and say G'day at our Queensland Figure Modellers club display and make yourself known.
The complex is opposite the Redbank Plains Shopping center.
Show runs 26-27 August, 9am-5pm

Well that's QMHE done and run and in a surprise upset, our display won the John Stockley award for best club display. We were fortunate to have Andy Cairns, and John Belcher, make the trip across the ditch, and they both showed commendable restraint on the Sunday not to gloat too much, as once again the Wallabies snatched defeat from the jaws of victory against the All Blacks.
The competition was a huge success, with lots of first time modellers summoning up the courage to put their pieces on the comp tables. The fictional figures have had a huge surge, as a lot of wargamers make the switch to stand alone display models. I haven't heard crowd numbers, but they would easily rival last year's, despite the local council's decision to turn the scarce car parking into a construction site.
