David,
outstanding, and I stand and applaud your efforts at splashing water
The white scourer does add to the foam effect immensely.
Just a few 'sheets' of water would help carry the idea (see attached images), as a horse moving through water moves the water in sheets, rather then just as foam.
If you wanted to duplicate some small 'sheets' of water, there are a few ways I have heard of doing this.
- Lay out the Vallejo water effect and let dry on a slight curve, then cut to shape, and fix amongst water effects. Add scourer fragments to the edges if you wish
- bit more complicated, but I pinched this from an armour site (many years ago); get some old clear sheet plastic, say from a CD cover, and let it form a shape around a light globe by warming it.
Let it cool in this shape, then whack it with a hammer! Then you will have an abundance of curved clear shapes!
Attach as needed (or desired)and then you will have clear sheet water captured in a dynamic pose.
I did have a link for the effects, many computers ago, so I quote from memory. Hope it helps.
I just feel that adding some sheet water would really help; the water would appear in front and to the sides of the horses legs, and would imply movement forwards, with foam trailing behind the direction of movement.
Still, your work, and the above is meant very respectfully; you have done something that had been on wish list for many years, so kudos to you!
Still, excellent stuff, and I will be adding this to my list of inspiring art work! Large rock, smooth stones for the river, great finish to the horse and rider, pose just right for the groundwork.....a real show stopper!
cheers
