Completed AWI Continental Marine 1775

I now have all four of the AWI 1/9th busts that was from Ellies Miniatures, I already had two but these two, Continental Marine and French Bombardier de la Marine, I purchased from Ross at MMM.

The first one to paint will be the Continental Marine, I shall do him in the early white facings of 1775 before they changed them to red in 1779 due to shortage of the white cloth.

All the prep done and primed so on with his face.

Face painted in my normal Artist's oils and the eyes done first in acrylics with an acrylic gloss varnish.



Time for a cuppa and then paint the hat.

Is Ellie's Miniatures now defunct and has Ross bought their masters? I noticed previously that Ross had marketed the French Hussar on campaign which was originally scheduled as an Ellie's release, and still shows on their website.

As far as I know Ellies is no longer in production

I would imagine Ross has the masters , it's nice to see these pieces available

This is enough for today, some first coat colour blocking on the hat and hair, the hair will be a bit darker when the Citadel Earth Shade Wash is applied.

Base blocking coat applied earlier, now for a few more thin coats on the tunic using Docraft acrylic Jungle Green.
