Hi Guys

This is the well known grouping of 3 Crimean veterans ...I am working on this fellow on the right .....anyone any suggestions of the details of the badge on the cap , I can see its diamond shaped ?

Coukd it be the actual bonnet badge ?

Cheers folks and a happy Hogmanay and all that

Hi Kev.

First off They are not 42nd ( Black Watch) they are in fact 72nd, ( The Duke of Albanys ) Own Highlanders.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/72nd_Regiment,_Duke_of_Albany's_Own_Highlanders

This may be it

PS .....Stop sunning yourself over there ..it's cold here!

Kev,
If you go into the wiki link above and you will see your pic and that of the badge. ( I know wiki aint always the best sauce of info, but we are only looking at photo's)
If you blow the pic up a bit the hat looks like a wooly tammie and the badge appears to have a cloth backing to it.

Mick
Just over 4wks to go sunny but a bit of a wind today

Cheers Mick I agree about the cloth backing , might be me but it looks a bit like a bugle horn badge ...

Off to sort the backing out!
