Greetings,
Acmodels would like to announce their December release depicting a BAOR Cheiftian crew in 1/35.
ACM 35029 comes with four figures in various relaxed poses drinking a cuppa on the running engine deck to keep warm. The radio operator is at his post in the turret.

Theres a pic in BAOR 1945 to 79 (Tankograd) page 7 showing tankies wearing cap comforters in N.Europe. True, it's early 50's and a Cromwell.......

No worries Andy, it's not 'wrong', as such we all had them issued, but most of us cut the ends off the tubular knit and used 'em as a snood, if you needed a wooly hat on winter exercises, some infantry lads used green knitted peaked caps under their steel helmets easily enough.
not many though

These figures are pre "Bone Dome" The tankie "two way stretch" beret with the badge in the middle of the forehead , comes from using head phones.
I wore one of those plastic face shields with the goggles all in one, designed for trials bikes, in bright red and a NUFC scarfe along with a German army maggot bag (feet sticking out). No heat in the drivers position but no one can see you!
I saw my "cap comforter on the day it was issued and then on the day I handed it back in. :)
