No comments? Well then let me post this update. Did some work with shades and more highlights and worked on the face and shield.

Hi John, sorry I missed this first time round. I particularly like the way you've handled the textures of the fur and the hair and beard.
The only comment I'd make about the face as it stands, is that the shading of the creases around the eyes is far too dark. A transitional shade blended in will make quite a difference. Overall I think you've captured the 'look' very well and once the groundwork is done it'll all come together.

Hi Derek, thanks for the comments! As a matter of fact I was already on my way to change the eyes, I totally agree with you. Pictures can be cruel.
Further mure I added a little magenta to the face just a thin glace in the corners of the cheeks and upperhead.
I will post more progress soon.

Sorry I missed this one. It looks like a very clean painting. Some issues you want to look at are the highlights on the pants/leggings. They appear to be very stark and could be smoothed out some.

Gewoon totaal gemist deze. Het enige wat ik graag zou zien is dat je het wit van de ogen kleiner maakt. De sclera is te groot. Aflijnen aan de boven en onderkant. Boven met Burnt Umber, Onder met Burnt sienna.
Verder vind ik het erg goed.

i agree with Derek comment, you are doing a nice job, i have also this figure in my grey army , but probably i will modify the axe , it isn't historically correct because of its very large head to be a Francisca type axe..

Thanks for all the replies guys, I am still working on this figure with thin glazes, more depth and the face and the eyes will be adjusted. I found myself using to much yellow, I added some purple in the far corners and yes the eyes will be better I hope.
Thinking of painting stripes on the trousers, I think I will give it a go..

Here another update fellas. Did some changes on his eyes, trousers, fur and added a tattoo. Don't know if this is historical correct i think it has a purpose for this barbarian.

The eyes are much better, but i have to neatpicking.
If it is possible paint a dark line in the inside of the lower eyepocket. It whill made the eye less popeyed.
The white still looks to large.

Thanks Marc, I changed the eyes and a lot of other little things, likt the cape and the shield. And the groundwork is finished, this one is almost done.
