I am in the process of developing two projects that involve two impressive selections. the first is the Barton 90mm figure offered in the early 1980s the other is the new release by Andrea. I ordered that one this am and I am still in shock over the price. However, I intend to develope each here for any one that wishes to observe and comment. This is my first posting within this area of the forum so I hope I do not embarras myself with the lack of skills shown by others within the spectrum of viewers . I truly am humbled.
I have attached a copy of the pic for the barton figure as shown in the December 1979 Campaigns Magazine Vol 5 No 25 ]Barton

Welcome to the vbenches Bill. You have picked a classic in the Barton Mounted figure. I painted this one back right after it was released. I look forward to seeing your progress and thoughts on both of these figures. They should look awesome together.

Bill, I can relate to the sticker shock. I has forced to to REALLY evaluate my spending process. The one thing I can say, and I think we can all agree, is that today's prices will be the best prices youa re going to find. In 10 to 20 years, people will probably be green with envy that we paid 200 bucks for these figures.....

sad, but true....

I have made an inventory of the parts on the Barton figure and have preped some of the parts and begun work on others. I have taken the original base and discarded it as being to flat and unsightly. using, a piece of marble I have started a street base with cobblestones and ground base. The horse figure is primed and awaiting paint. The flag I am not happy with as it does not look real. I may have to prepare a more realistic substitute as it is to stiff looking. Besides the support pole is missing. I will also have to craft an arm for the main figure. Anyway here are some initial photos. I am awaiting the paint stock ordered from Andrea before going further into the project.

You are making good progress William. Will you have the horse on a seperate base when you paint him? Try taking the photos without the flash, as the close-up seems flooded with light.
