base plaques

Hello all,
I've noticed lots of different base plaques here on PF...I don't know much about them; do most of you have them engraved? They certainly add to the finished work.

One label made from Fimo, but I guess that sulpey, etc work just as fine. The tutorial is in german, but the pictures speak for themselves:

Those lables might not be as perfect as an engraved plate, but depending on your topic and style of your miniature/ diorama they might fit perfectly.

if you don't want to make the nameplate yourself, let me introduce myself. I run Name it! and we've been supplying specialist plates to modellers for over 12 years now - we've lots of customers amongst the planeteers. The plates are aluminium, brass or plastic and cost between £3 and £5 each, depending on the size.

Most commercial print shops (business cards, awards, plaques etc) can print a name plate. The ones I use are heat printed on brass or brushed stainless, cost $15- $20. It's just a storefront shop in a little plaza across the street. Usually done overnight... good deal.
