I did, but would not use it for 54mm. The paint is good, but the nozzle could be finer. I prefer Tamiya or Citadel just for the nozzles. Costs? Buying figures for 50 bucks or more and saving for the primer o_O;)

Fair point, but similar primers are used by people doing 1/48 scale armour, 1/72 scale aircraft and many mini painters use them for 28mm work...

Save the nozzles from empty cans then, clean them and re-use :)

One good tip is to warm primer in hand-hot water before spraying. This reduces the viscosity and raises the pressure in the can slightly, which both improve the atomisation; if you can find something locally that's the equivalent of Hycote or Halfords you should be able to achieve an acceptable primer coat.

Revell's nozzle is as fine as any standard rattle can. Tamiya and Citadel are definitely finer and they also offer higher and more constant pressure. What I did was purchasing fine nozzles at artist's stores which improved the non-Tamiya-Sprays a lot. And, of course, saving Tamiya nozzles, but they are hard to clean.
