Came by chance across a brief announcement of the recent death of Graham Bickerton. A painter of consummate skill, for me he will always be associated with Historex and later with his work with Poste Militaire. He was a guiding light and true inspiration for many of us and assuredly deserves his place in the pantheon...........adieu !

I am surprised no one has shown his work here. I suspect most people who remember him and his work are, like me, of a certain age and not very good with technology.

He was a real inspiration to many and a great help moving the hobby away from "toy soldiers"

I remember seeing Graham’s work in the Historex catalogues and in Mil Mod show reports. Needless to say he inspired me. Agree this is a sad loss to the hobby.

Sincere condolences on your loss.

In the pre-internet days of our youth, when Military Modelling magazine and Euromilitaire were the only guiding lights in our hobby, the name of Graham Bickerton, together with Ray Lamb, Max Longhurst and Lyn Sangster, rang out as a bell even on this side of the Channel.
