Hi Folks,

I’m assembling this Napoleon vignette. All painting is complete.

I usually use Elmers white glue for this.

I’m having a little trouble this time. Should I peg the bottom of the boots into the base?

Maybe use a dot of liquid nails? Super glue will not work here because of uneven mating surfaces.

Any advice?

Agreed with Adrian, pins and 2-part epoxy would be my preferred method. Must admit I've never tried liquid nails ("No Nails" here in UK) on any modelling jobs, but it works OK on DIY jobs.

Guys I think my message was not understood. I'm talking about gluing the finished figure to the base. Resin to painted plaster base.

The construction of the resin figure itself and all resin to resin is always with C/A

Hi,
As already explained, legs and base drilled for pins and fixed with two part epoxy glue.
The pins stabilise the joint.

Cheers

Hi George,

I would also pin and glue the figure. I would use epoxy glue If the base is plaster, I would suggest that you can stick a thick scotch tape on the spot and then drill thru that. The tape holds the drill bit in place and also protects the plaster from cracking, I think.

Very simple Patex, all purpose + a drop of cyanolite
I even assembled a giant by Grenadier all lead/tin, very heavy ... never moved

Trunk, legs, arms were separate parts 180mm

I don't do full figures but epoxy , and pinning is the best way in my opinion

Why not enter a piece in our Figure of the Month comp , you choose the class

Happy benchtime
