Hi,

I recently again bought several models by Chronos Miniature and was asked if i was also interested in this figure. The name of the figure is "Bavarian chevalier", is not (yet) advertised, but it is already in stock. I can't find a Bavarian chevalier but looking at the uniform it is probably a Chevau-léger.

The models is resin, in the 54mm scale and was ordered directly from Chronos Miniatures

The completed figure:

Overall a nice figure and i will be looking forward to painting it.

I agree with you, I think that's a mistranslation, or more precisely, the wrong word selected. It's a chevaux-leger, a light horseman, not a knight.
I'm reminded of the rendering of Jäger or chasseur as "hunter". Yes, that is a literal translation of the word into English, but context is everything. We just say Jäger or chasseur.
It looks like a nice enough kit. Some seamage to clean up, but not bad. I reminds me of the illustration in one of the Osprey "Napoleon's German Allies" numbers.

Prost!
Brad

It indeed is a Bavarian Chevau-leger. I have been waiting for this release for a LONG time. Mine is on the way directly from CHRONOS. I, like Oda, cannot say enough about how wonderful these figures are. I am currently finishing up a conversion of a CHRONOS foot figure of a French emigre regiment in Russian service 1797-1800.
