Here is my completed 1/16 Bavarian Jager, 1870. Sculpted by Antonio Meseguer and released by H&V Miniatures. Painted in oils and acrylics. It is the first piece I have finished from start to finish in the past few years. As such, it is quite rough, IMHO. Anyway, I am glad to have it finished so I can move onto the next project.

Thank you all.

Kev, to be honest, I can't remeber the mix. However, there is a lot a debate over the real colour of cornflower blue and most representations of it is too light. Examples of period uniforms suggest it is much darker. I tried to go with a middle ground.

I don't think it is rough at all. Indeed, it is very good painting. I agree about cornflower blue - I think the blue on the Bavarian flag might be close, but as with all uniforms different dyes and colour fading in sunlight, etc in reality the shade would vary.

I have found that Vallejo Dark Blue (930) is closest to it, compared to the cornflowers in my garden, that is.
