Sorry all .
I am venturing into to town to buy some stuff , but before I do , I want to ask (AGAIN)

1. On completion of your works , do you use any protector or sealant on top of your paintwork to protect it ? If so , what ?
2. I am just using acrylic paint , is there different finishes ? I mean , I would like the black band on my beret a little more shiny than the basic black acrylic , also to make the sole of my boots different to the boot itself.
I know these are basic to you , but I am not ready yet ,to start messing around experimenting with painting techniques as I am still in the very newbie stage , not bad considering I bought my first project last year
thanks all
john

I don't seal anything myself, acrylic in theory SHOULD dry matt unless it's meant to be gloss, this isn't always the case. For your boots I would suggest using a panzer grey type of colour which is a very dark grey re the beret try mixing some gloss varnish into it/ Experiment on some scrap first till you find a mix you like.
