Another one on my wants list, if anyone has this PiliPili bust kit gathering dust, I am looking for her!

Found one!

She is on her way from a hobby shop in Sweden of all places.

I already see her in vibrant jade green or purple tones.....:):):)

Another painting challenge...

Well done Pierre. That one is a few years old for sure. Pili Pili used to do some nice pieces - are they still about?

Unfortunately Lee Van Quang (PiliPili) stopped producing figures and busts almost ten years ago.

Some of them are easy to find on the usual sites or in the remaining stock of online stores, but some of them are very hard to find indeed and Beijing Belle is one of these.

Quang's work was always the result of meticulous research on the subject, as proven by his Native American subjects and meeting him and his wife at a show was always a pleasure, very friendly and ready to discuss their work.
They used to have 120mm scale Native American babies in cradles as freebies for their customers at shows.
And to top it all: they are fellow Belgians!

BTW the two 25th birthday presents I painted for both our daughters are from PiliPili:

I remember now. Lee was a good guy and always approachable. I spoke to him several times at Euro Militaire. I recognise the two figures you have posted, wghich are beautifully done. I painted his Crow Hunter (with ear trumpet!), an excellent piece.

Thanks Phil.
At Euro the PiliPili stand was in the vicinity of the bar, if memory serves me right with Pegaso to the left of the bar's entrance, at least in the 80's.

Cheers,
Pierre

Sorry Nap. I thought I had one but I only have the Seville Belle.

Remember seeing this one at Euro Militaire a long time ago. Enjoyed talking with Quang. I have several of his Indian busts and full figures.
