Beneito - Erich Topp - Bust

Hi Guys,

a bought this a couple of time ago and this one is an exchange, because the first one is not in conditions
The box art are amazing, but when you open the box you find this:

did anyone have this bust?
I am awaiting a response from the manufacturer... it seems that I am not lucky again


I have here another figures from Beneito, and everything are ok with them good quality figures that worth the money, this one is for your consideration.

Sorry buddy, but I have to disappoint you. The casting of the new figures from Beneito are not so bad when i look at them, but this bust is an old one, and you will get no better casting from this bust than this one (or they shut have made a new recast).
How I know this? I got this bust to, and mine is not better than the one your showing,
so, it will be a nice bust at the end, after lots and lots of cleaning up to do.

I expect this response from the manufacturer, as a buyer of this brand, I was very disappointed with the attitude of the Mr.Hidalgo, which chose to ignore all this (1st one PM to him and now, this review), perhaps some kind of strategy to scare off potential buyers like me ...

Benito bust

Hi Pedro,

Like Eddy's and yours - mine is identical and was bought about 5 years ago. As such, the busts will only get worst and they are clearly now almost worn out.

A LOT of clean-up is required but it should (hopefully) look well in the end. I had thought of selling mine but can't resist one day to build/paint it and then display it next to Revell's huge and superb 1/72 MK VII U-boat kit which includes the required parts / decals to be built as Topp's boat.

You are right however to feel annoyed as the box art bust was probably completed when first released and the molds still fresh.

they have a lot of interesting figuresthis one is old, the brand should do is a recast of this and replaced by a new one

I am sorry you paid for a badly cast piece but if it is any comfort, I would like to share my experience over the years:

Besides fiddling with figures from 1/48 to 120mm, of which a reasonably high standard of casting is usually expected of, I am also a Garage Kit (GK) modeller. And in the GK world, illegal recasting is much more frequent, and recasts are circulated among modellers all the time. That means GK modellers have a much lower expecation for casting, and happily take on any level of clean-up work that would leave the room in piles of resin.

For those of us who steer clear of recast GK kits, the situation is no more optimistic: Even some original kit producers (reasonably famous within the circle) who are the first people to cast the masters can do a bad job at it, and honestly do not care, outraging some unsuspecting buyers who pay hundreds of US dollars for the piece.

But life goes on for the GK lot.

not common on Beneito figures this type of bad casting like i write previously
My "Erich Topp" bust was purchase more or less 3/4 months or a little more... and this one is an exchange, because the other are much worst. Before this review, I send you an private PM that you not answered...

The bust that you show here is amazing compare with my copy and as noted by many friends their busts is also like mine

surely I will send my address for the exchange of bust by the amazing cast that that you kindly show us, but I will send you my copy to exchange by the new one.
