Hi All
A few pictures of the Best of Show from Euro Militaire 2010. A Fantasy piece, Dragon Slayer, scratch built. Sorry did not get the winners name but sure someone else on here will know. My wife took most of the photos.

Other images to be posted up later today.

Hi Tommi,

It was by a Mr. Chris Clayton, one of the big names on Cool Mini or Not......

Great Piece, superb show, and the largest ever turn out for Euro over 1000 entries, model overload.......

It's a beautiful piece of work! Too bad I couldn't make decent pictures of it because of the lights and glass.

Cheers,
Marcel.

I'm really pleased this piece won BOS it was truly magnificent to see in the 'flesh'. Very difficult to photo though because of the huge size.
The dragon may not be military but the knight was an excellent portrayal of armour and the flesh tones were very natural too.
There were loads of excellent pieces entered by PF members too.
Congratulations

Melanie

A well deserved BOS for Chris. Stunning piece of art and a real show stopper.

Boy, am I glad that Chris will be our guest at our show next month, so that I can drool over this masterpiece again. As a figure of speech, that is. ;)

I've noticed some interesting asides on this blog regarding fantasy pieces. It was noticeable at Euro the upsurge in this area of the painting competitions For my part I welcome this new area of the hobby as it involves a bigger cross section of the public particularly the juniors who can probably relate to this more than the historical subjects.
From the artistic point of view it opens doors to creativity which are way beyond anything seen previously and in my humble opinion has helped to raise the bar in painting standards to levels undreamed of 10 or maybe even 5 years ago.
I have to add that I am a staunch traditionalist in my painting but am inspired by work such as this superb BOS.
