Falkland figure set with 4 figure ( 3 British soldiers and captured one Argentine soldier ) . Two figures ( British soldier and POW Argentine soldier) are about , and will be released next month

Nice to see this from Blackdog, and great to hear from Martin about the set next month. I'll look at the set of 4 and perhaps buy all.
Quick question to those with more knowledge, the figure on the left is show with an M16, therefore is this more of an SBS figure?

Your comments seem about right, they look like SBS or even SAS, gear, gaiters they seem to be wearing and M-16 look correct, this link has some great reference pics - http://z15.invisionfree.com/smallwarsairsoft/ar/t309.htm
Nice to see some Falklands figures!
Regarding the equipment, The SAS, Royal Marine Commandos (M&A warfare Cadre), SBS and some forward artillery observers used the M-16 (there might even be more units that used them. I have seen pictures of military war corespondents using M-16`s) The thing to remember with regards to the M-16 they used in the Falklands is that they supposedly were of the earliest (AR 15) production and lacked the forward assist, so it has to be removed from the figures weapon. they also used the three-pronged flash hider instead of the "birdcage" flash hider.
Im a bit unsure about the carbines that were used if they were of AR 15 or M16 stock, but I guess they include the forward assist, the same with the combos with the M 203 grenade launcher.

Regarding the M16 the SBS did use the Canadian model that's a wee bit shorter around this time, I will stand corrected!

There can NEVER be enough Royal Marines on the market, I am biased.
Lovely pieces and superb sculpts.
I joined RM 88 so a little after the conflict, my PW was there as were a few of my friends, one on the initial detachment.
I can find more information but to me these pieces hold their own and taken as lovely clean sculpts cannot fail.
I look forward to seeing the POW, out of interest and how portrayed

Thats right Steve, our teams (Black Watch) were usually Team commander and Radio op had the M16's, the 2i/c had the good old SLR and the gunner had the LMG.
Happy days they were.
