Bob Knee, Jr has joined our ranks here on the planet and brings with him over 30 years of Historical Miniature painting. Of those, 10 years was spent as the Master Artist for Series 77 Miniatures, painting all of their box art and designing the assembly and painting guides.

Many of us recognize his name as he has received Grand Master designation at Atlanta, MFCA, and National Capital Model Soldier Society in Washington, DC. Bob is especially proud of being recognized by the Chicago club and was awarded the “Chicago Medal” by their membership. Bob has authored many articles for miniature magazines and club publications. A recent book, Color Theory and Application, published by R&K Productions, many of us have and use frequently as a guide for painting in oils.

The first series of Figures Bob brings to PlanetFigure is the Native American Figures he has painted. The first is a Blackfoot Chief, produced my EMI.

Guy,

Thanks for sharing. This is amazing. Another great painter joining the ranks of the Planet.
There is something i would ask. Is this book still available, and is it good for us painter's . If so would you recomend it.
What is then the ISBN number so i can buy it here in Europe.

Looking forward to see more figure's of Bob.

Marc

Thanks Marc.

I would reccomend the book for people who use oils and acrylics. It was published by R&K Productions (Historical Miniature Magazine) and can be ordered off their website.or from their email address.

I will have to add that my copy is well worn and heavily used since I purchased mine.

The next figure is a 120mm Figure by PiliPili Miniatures, sculpted by Le-Van Quang. As you can see, Bob replaced the mound supplied with the kit with a tree limb and ground work which was sculpted by Paul Keefe.

“Braddock’s Defeat”

This figure is a one-of-a-kind sculpted by Paul Keefe. Paul sculpted the Indian, tree and groundwork and Bob painted the complete scene.

I am very glad to see Bob join the ranks. Bob has a vast knowledge of figure painting, and is very happy to share with other figure painters. I have seen several painters move up to silver and gold medal winners under Bob's guidance. Very glad to have you amongst us.

I would like to say hello and thanks to Bob. Bob is the one who got me started in this wonderful hobby and I would not be here if it were not for him and all the help that he has given to me and numerous others.

Thanks again Bob and look forward to seeing more of your work, :)

Welcome aboard Bob! Glad to have you online. I too learned a great deal through Bob. He introduced me to Series 77, spent a lot of time sharing tips on how to do this and that, and showed me how to do groundwork. I took two of his classes and they helped tremendously. He even instructed me in painting those nasty bed ticking britches on Series 77 Wheat's Tiger. And, gave me many pointers. He actually threatened me a time or two with a wiched looking ruler for using too much paint on my brush. You know, the threat really worked too! Glad to have you among our ranks!

Best of Everything,

Terry Martin

Mine too Guy. I have found it invaluable. And a hearty welcome to Bob. He is not only an outstanding 'figurista' but one of the nicest gents around.

I guess that from now on, I'd better be careful as to what I put on my brushes.

Welcome aboard, Bob! (y) (y)

“On The Enemie’s Trail”

The next scene was also sculpted by Paul Keefe . Paul again did all the groundwork, tree and Bob painted the complete scene. The dead leaves are from The Lost Battalion and are in their Groundwork accessories line.

Guy,

That Bob can surely paint. Amazing stuff. And all the details he bring in.
I think he has a whole library off the Native Americans.
I wait for the next picture's.
