A Fixture
I was lucky enough to pick up some mis-cast busts to play around with from Alexandre Kohkriakov at Castle Miniatures, so I got Pete Watson to build me a fancy base with a special slot and job done.
Nice bust. But why is the poster used by the late Soviet, while the bust represents the form of the period of the Civil War?
Poster abbreviations:
БАМ (Baikal–Amur Mainline) - they began to build in 1926, but because of various difficulties, they could not build the entire route immediately, in 1942 the road and bridge farms were completely dismantled for the construction of the Stalingrad-Saratov-Syzran-Ulyanovsk railway. The main path was built with great interruptions from 1938 to 1984.
Самотлор (Samotlor Field) - the discovery of the field was in 1965.
Атоммаш (Atommash) - was founded in 1976.
КамАЗ (Kamaz) - was founded in 1976.
It turns out that the earliest date for the creation of the poster is 1976. And the bust have a budenovka helmet until 1926.
I immediately guessed that this was due to the lack of the ability to check Cyrillic names. And I understand that the background can be changed if desired, however, it can be left unchanged. There is no literal mistake in this, if the background is not perceived as the time of the Civil War, but as the entire Soviet period. Thanks for this svt, I don't read or speak Russian so it was hard to find things that were era appropriate. I'm the end I went for a more abstract design, though I knew someone on here would pull me up on it! I can frrely change the postcard backdrop so if I get something more fitting I can easily swap it in.
Hi Dolf the bust is a standard 1/10 scale. I actually mention mis-cast busts, in that Alex let me have a few that didn't pass their quality checks for my "experiments". On this one I was trying out different painting and presentation. I'll message Alex and check his stock for you.I looked into the currently available busts on the manufacturer's (Castle Miniatures) sitem but couldn't find this bust listed. Is it OOP?
Kenshin39, you mention "mini-casts busts" in your initial post, can you please let me know what scale it is? I'd assume 1/12, but that's just speculating.
Thanks.
Cheers!
Dolf
