Hi to all planeters,
I would introduce to you the French magazine "Soldats napoléoniens", IMO the best reference actually in the world of historical magazines on the Napoleonic period.
Four issues in the year, 80 pages each issue, very rich of historical articles about French Army, allied Armies and enemy Armies. Very interesting texts, many pictures, many photos of real uniforms and weapons carried by the men, with unbelievable details. To learn more, you can go on the link
http://www.editions-napoleon.com/dyn/ou/index.php and you can find the distributor in your Country. You can also make a direct subscription in the page "Abonnements". They edit also the magazine "Napoleon" that's mainly related to history, while I think Soldats Napoléoniens is very useful for modelers, both scultors and painters.
The staff of the magazine also started the last year on october at Saint Vincent-Italy, to give a special award to the best Napoleonic figurine, in whatever scale. The award is a free yearly subscription for 4 issues to the magazine and a wonderful book on Joachim Murat, illustrating his life and his fantastic uniforms, with a lot of images. After Saint Vincent, this iniziative continued with important shows in France and Italy, as last w.e. in Rome, and will be soon at Athens. The staff would contact the European Clubs organizing the best Shows (as Folkestone, Antwerp or Ingolstadt, Girona, Torrent) and in USA, for the shows I read in this Forum (as MFCA, Tulsa, Atlanta, etc. I beg excuses but I don't remember all) Please contact this address:
[email protected] to give the name of the President of the Association organizing the shows and to know the rules for getting the award.
Best regards to all
