Hello guys,
Just listening to music;staring at the piece I'm working on.(Rorke's Drift bust);trying to figure out just what needs to be done to finish this damn thing.
Then right next to me is a wall ,maybe 5'x15' full of Bosson head sculpts that I have collected over maybe the last 10-15 yrs.
Just a rambling question wondering if anyone else in this great big wonderful world of our's is familier with with these(what I consider) great works of art.....Plus the fact that they were mass produced.............................Wayne

Having trouble with computer..........
Yes ,I believe the sculptors name was Fred Wright;...............Also Alice Brindly(sp?).......Have many Legends as well...............Regards.............Wayne

Hi Wayne, I wonder how many survive in good condition, the early ones were cast in a sort of plaster of paris type material that chipped very easily. The only one I have is an Osprey that was bought for my wife from the money I saved from my expenses while in Norfolk training to become a sales representative..........happy days,

Keith

Wayne - I seem to remember as a kid, my gran and grandad having an Arab with a hound and a pirate. I loved looking at them and I tried to paint my figures in a similar style! Yes, they were cast in a Plaster of Paris type material, which chipped easily!

Hello Helm,
Yes, I have that one;..Your Moms looks a little nicked a bit,but you have to realize they were made of so called chalkware. If you breathed on them they would nick.
I used to buy alot of them damaged for the soul purpose to repair them."Putty and paint makes the devil a saint".That's
somewhat how I got into painting miniatures. They are in my opinion amazing pieces of art work;the expressions, the pores in the skin, the wrinkles.Wish I could make a miniature look like that.................Regards.............Wayne

Cheers Wayne that's not the actual one of Moms just a net pic but it's pretty much identical with the nose chipped, mind you he's an old fellah we;ve had it as long as I can remember so some 40 odd years and has been through a few moves.
