its my intention over the winter months to do a boxed diorama of a painting ( the siege of Dundee), it depicts a room with approx. 8 figures and a large church window, I am thinking of using pipe cleaners to form the stonework in the window.the figures will be 75mm in scale, if anyone can help with this project,i would be grateful for any assistance, thank you / badger

Hi Bill,
What period in history are you doing? William Wallace or the Civil war, sounds like an interesting project. Looking forward to seeing how this comes together.
cheers
Richie

yes,the real stone looks good, thank you. and its the English civil war, Cromwell sent general monk to sack Dundee, and the last survivors took refuge in the old steeple which is still standing, and the room depicted in the painting ( the siege of Dundee) is still there). the English told them to surrender and they would be spared but when they opened the doors they were massacred on the spot./badger

I used to live in Ayr when i was a wee boy,and used to climb a big stone wall, called Cromwells wall.It wasn't until much later in life that i realised it's significance. It's still standing today, as is a full scale replica of an ECW large cannon outside Ayr's swimming pool. It's amazing what you come across in your local area.
