Looks great Brian! Very nice paintjob!

Maybe one comment: the white snow of the groundwork contrasts a bit too much to the figure to my taste. Maybe you can add some snow to his lower legs and/or add dirty footsteps behind/around him, just to get this balanced. Those footsteps will also break the evenness of the groundwork at the same time.

Congrats again on a great figure!

Brian,
fantastic stuff! And all in oils....I couldn't be more proud! ;)

I do have to echo Marijn's comments though, just a bit of pizzaz on the ground work to add some depth and you have yourself a piece that rivals Latorres himself! Good work!

Hi there!

Indeed a very beautiful and carefully painted piece!Looks matt enough and clean! This kind of highlighting(which is usual when using acrylics...)with oils?Very interesting!Next time try to blend your colors a little more and you'll get perfect!

Oh,something else!Remember, next time you'll use snow as terrain, push the foot of your figure to create footsteps on the snow(How is your saxon warrior supposed to have reached to this point? ;) )

Bravo once again!Incredible

Hey Brian...excellent!

 he might be standing on some ice with a very thin covering of fresh snow....... ;)

I believe this figure depicts a Saxon warrior from the movie King Arthur.........and from the battle on the ice.........

Nice one mate. He sure has cold feel to him. He's nasty looking piece of work. Wondering, what was the oil mix for the shirt colour?
Sap Green a bit of yellow ochre and a dab of white.I've never used exact formulas for oil paints ,i just mess about until it looks right .

Thanks everyone for your comments and i take on board what was said about the snow, most welcome.I had put footprints at the back of him but quite obviously they don't show up ,so i'll try and rectify that. Thanks again for making me aware of that

Brian he looks so realistic it's scary !!!!
Stephen, you find him scary, coming from Northern Ireland ? Mind you, you didn't get any Saxons over there other than the shoe shops, so i can understand your fear. Come to Glasgow and you'll see quite a few of these chaps drinking in the quaint little pubs in the city centre or somtimes in the train or bus stations downing a bottle of Buckfast wine (a good vintage of course)

Quite a nice job indeed! I have to agree with the snow. He looks like he just landed from the sky. I do not know which product you are using for the snow but it would be interesting to lightly taint it at a few spot just to give it more texture. If i may add I think that the helmet would deserve a little bit more work. Pushing the lighting on it a little more would not hurt!
