Paulo, based on what info I can find, for parade use, the shabraque would be dark blue, with gold lace edging and regimental cyphers. Leather equipment dark brown/black, although at this time, officers purchased much of their own uniform and equipment so difficult to be specific. There was also a huge amount of kit and horses lost at sea in the storm prior to the landings...(y)

I have a copy of the Dress Regulations 1857 (therefore a couple of years later).

The horse furniture is detailed as follows:

Hope it's of some use.

Thank you all for the help.
It's most useful.

Just one last question: can't understand if a leather 'strap' from the back of saddle to the tail (don't know the real name) is used or not. Any possibility of clarifying this?

Cheers,
Paulo

Hi Paulo,
the strap you mention running from the saddle to the tail is called a “crupper” and is used to stop the saddle and other tack from sliding forward.
It seems from the source quoted above by Andrew that a crupper was used by the Grenadier Guards and was patent black.
Hope this helps.
Nigel
