This is such a significant release I decided to log in.

Let me confess. I have had my fair share of scrutnizing head sculpts from this manufacturer. As harsh as it may sound, some of the things I said a year ago remained, in my view, deserving.

But this head sculpt here by the same artist looks to me British in every way. And I studied Caucasion faces and skin colour a lot back in UK when I first started out with face painting. And I am capable of telling a Korean from a Japanese from a Chinese person, a Polish from a Russian from a British from a German from a Spanish person. So, if I think this face looks the nationality, I guess it ranks pretty high in the figure world where I am hailed the judge. In which I am the only inhabitant maybe.

Well done Young and Calvin!

To add further; I would say the mouth is very similar to Young's MG34 Gunner...and as for Mr Tse's comments...well you are entitled. IMHO if you want a quintessential 'look' for a British Soldier of the period then look no further than Young's LRDG bust. He 'nailed' it for me with that release...

Michael
You may have studied caucasian faces but it looks nothing like me or my family. And BTW, I just having go at you:D

Dave:
I think you're right. I've seen a few Scousers, Geordies and Glaswegians who are the spitting of this guy:rolleyes:

@Felipe: Good point. The similarities are uncanny and the face is more composed and 'mature' looking. Gets my vote too. :)

It cost's £50.65 at historex, only because pegaso have discounted it is it cheaper.

If young hadnt produced this would you pay that !!!!

I dont understand why its always open season on Youngs busts, its as if he has to be severily critiqued every time he releases something and yet other products from other manufacturers just dont get anything but lovely. If it not the face issue its german or both.

If I was young I would be more than ,,,,,,,, off. This is a superb bust by anybodies standards

Stuart

You have a point Stuart, and I think price here is probably a key factor. Personally, if I'm looking to hand over £30-£70 of my 'hard-earned' then it has to be something good. My main interest are German figures (with modern Brits coming into the ring too now) so Young can produce all he likes. However, if the finished product doesn't attract me then I won't buy it, regardless of genre or era.

So if Young Miniatures came out and said Promo offer £20 which woulkd you buy !

"I refer the Honourable Gentleman to my earlier reply." If the finished product doesn't attract me then I won't buy it. It really would depend on which figures he was promoting and whether I wanted it in my collection.
