Hi Guys,

I was wondering if there was anyone out there who knows if there is a suitable120mm figure, which could be converted to the above? I don't mind doing some resculpting/remodelling, but could do with the basics!! Something with battledress trousers, open neck tunic and/or shirtsleeves, Mk4 helmet and Lee Enfield, if such a thing exists!

My dad was there during the EOKA troubles on National Service and I had an idea to make a figure for him, if I could get hold of suitable bits and pieces!

Thanks in anticipation of some info, chaps!

Hi Steve,

Thanks guys! Sorry for the delay, Ive been away for a couple of days, so just playing catch up!

Richie and Mark - Ill look those up to see what I can find

Helm - Ta for that, mate - he said they trained with SMLEs but being a vehicle mechanic, he was issued a pistol and an old Sten, apparently!! Oh, and a whistle and a rattle for guard duty....!

He may well have had a SMLE then mate we kept our SLRs long after the infantry guys got the SA80

Cheers Steve - He was in between 1951 - 1953, just before the SLR was issued. Being a tradesman, I suppose they had whatever they had going spare at the time, in true Army fashion!!

They apparently had a mix of battledress and tropical kit, too! Must have looked a right bunch...! But makes for an interesting figure!!(y)

Coming in a bit late on this thread but an alternative could have been this figure, that we acquired from the Firing Line range last year. Scheduled to be re-released late this year. It is a Colour Sgt, Tropical Dress c 1960 Gloucestershire Regiment and is based on the Mike Chappell illustration - of which only the back was ever done I think!
