Just to let you guys know, atartslondon is legit. I took a chance (via paypal so not much of a chance) and ordered the set of W&N Series 7 brushes at the special price. Within a week they arrived at my home.

Has anyone tried ZEM brushes from Sabot Miniatures? They are very reasonably priced and I've been using them for over a year now. I really like them.

Rick, and others looking for recommendations, if the budget doesn't stretch to W&N No.7, try W&N 'Professional ', they are sable brushes, and whilst they lack that Kolinsky 'finesse' , they are good brushes at half the price of No.7 or something like them. Very much like the feel of the handles, and have several as my 'heavy duty squad ' being used on a daily basis.
Presently, my dream brush would be a 'Brokentoad' head on a W&N Professional handle...

I use red sable in whatever size I need, no brand preference. Now I have Winsor & Newton Series 7 brushes. I usually paint really small, so I go for sizes 0 and under (00, 000) or cut hairs out of a bigger one if I can't find one the size I want. For filling out large background areas, I've even used kiddie brushes. All soft-bristled, though.

Good idea to use the more cheap versions available in craft shops
