Geoff Charman
A Fixture
Our local antique shop had in some nice little six cm. seated figures of the young Budda and for £2 each how could I refuse getting one.
I think they are cast in dental plaster as it is very hard and not like resin to drill.
After a bit of Googling I found that his skin was usually gold-leafed so I used an oil based Rowney product called Goldfinger, a tube of which I purchased many years ago for touching up an old picture frame, it is buffable as well.
Next step will be to paint in the shadow areas of the clothing but that should be tomorrow.
