I had bought three busts from Mitches Military Models in Kulmbach and start with the first one. My first try to paint a dark skin tone and I must notice that it is very difficult to make good photos.

All three busts are sculpted from "Offo" and I like his busts because they had beautiful faces.

I have start painting highlights and shades but many things to do during the next days

Very nice Ulrich,

I like the flesh tones you have achieved. Very realistic.

Good work,
Ken

Thanks Offo and Ken

Ken: I am astonished that it works so good

Ulrich,
I find painting truly dark skin tones to be very difficult and the painting can easily be over done if one isn't careful. My nephew, by marriage, is from Ghana and has very dark skin comparable to your painting. It is the subtle highlights that I like the most.
