Dear Gentlemen,

I am Bill Love from Classicae Artworks.

We are starting a phase of substantial growth, releasing a large range of new figures during 2008/2009.

We require professional sculptors to meet that demand. We are looking to work with the BEST and we expect to pay for the privalege so, please contact me, a.s.a.p, at [email protected]

Thanks,

Bill Love.

Hi Bill,
I wish you the best of luck with your enterprise, and success for the future. Any new blood injection into this hobby should be applauded, be it a new teenage sculpting talent to someone using their retirement money to start a new business. Indeed it seems it's not the best of times to be launching a new project, what with the rising oil prices affecting the price of silicone rubber, resin, etc..So all the more credit to you for pushing on ahead regardless. My one and only niggle with Classicae (and please do not take this in too a negative way) is that the prices do seem a bit on the steep side...20 quid for a 54mm figure makes Andrea's look like a bargain.
I know that back in the days of 'Poste Militaire' and 'All the Queens Men'..et al.. there were people who'd pay alot of money to have something different...but I dont think that's relevant today. You cannot compete on the American market with a 54mm figure costing 40 dollars!
I wish you all the best Bill,
You're in charge,
Jon.

Pricing on Figurines.

Hi Jonathan,

Thank you for your words of support, they are much appreciated.

Pricing policy is never easy for firms which sell to a global market and you would think that anything produced in the U.K. would be very dificult to sell in the U.S!

Interestingly, we have found the reverse to be the case, with the U.K. being far slower that the U.S!!

The latest all white metal releases from Pegaso and Andrea each exceed our price for our first 54mm figure, Charlie's Prize, (which actually comes out at 65mm, as he was over 6'5" in real life). Our piece is £18.99, so we are cheaper than the competition.

The rest our our range is incredibly well priced, (Do please have a look at our website)! I doubt that any could compete at the quality-level of our raw-materials, or finish.

Try one of our kits and I guarantee that you will see the value for money.

Take care,

Bill.

Hi Bill,

I wish you and Classicae all the very best in your enterprise, and I truly hope that you will deliver on your promise.

I have recently ordered your magnificent 120mm Maori Chieftan (Te Erui) figure and I'm anxiously awaiting its arrival.

With the unfortunate demise of Seil earlier this year, there's a big gap in the market that needs to be filled. The challenge is before you and I hope you succeed.

Cheers

Hi Bill,
I've had another look at your website and stand mistaken, misreading 65mm for 54! (Friday night...beer...you know the score!). Having not bought a figure for quite a while, except on the cheap off ebay, I'm a bit out of touch with figure prices. I had a little surf on the Historex Agents website and....BLOODY HELL...HOW MUCH!
I must be getting old!
All the best with Classicae,
Jon.
