Still waiting for some paints to be delivered from Element Games, apparently they are having logistical problems with a well known brand supplier.

So rather than sit idle I have been filling time with another wonderful Chota Sahib figure. This one is a bit earlier than my normal chosen time period but it really is an elegant figure from the skilled hands of Sid Horton, aren't they all.

Painted entirely in acrylics using Ammo Matt Lucky Varnish and water to thin the paints, giving a nice matt finish. He's mounted on a resin column base from Marc Day at Sovereign 2000.

Another lovely piece Simon, as you say a wonderful figure.

Thank you Rob, I'm managing a little more finesse in my painting.

Looks very nice brother!!I like also the base! and the photos you take!!!

Cheers Snik, I'm quite pleased with this one. As for the photos, just using my phone, cameras don't like me, or I don't understand photography so I let the phone decide than pick out the best ones.

A nice piece and so very Sid Horton.....Long years back he produced a whole series
of articles for Airfix magazine converting their Napoleonic figures into Crimean
characters, I expect others will remember them well. This post raised some very
fond memories of sitting round his kitchen table....... thanks

Many thanks Mike, I saw his Airfix magazine articles though at the time they didn't mean much to me, I have since had opportunity to re read and enjoyed them. Only ever met Sid a few times at BMSS shows but he struck me as a thoroughly decent chap, I would have liked to have known him better. I still have a small stash of Chota Sahib figures and they will be posted as I paint them.

Nice work Simon.

Malc

Cheers Malc, I painted this fella back in the 80's and remember really struggling with the hat, no idea what happened to that version but I am more than happy with this one.
