Hi All,
My personal favourite battle from the AZW is Hlobane followed by Kambula the day after. This is going to be another scene from the battle of Hlobane mountain.
There was cave that the Zulu's marksmen had occupied and sniping at the British and Colonial troops with their tower muskets, so Colonel Wood initially asked Lt. Col. Weatherley of the Border Horse to clear the cave. He baulked at the idea and so Captain the honourable Ronald George Elidor Campbell of the Coldstream Guards who was a staff officer to Col. Wood thought this was an act of cowardice and immediately charged the cave entrance which was was only wide enough for one person at a time. As he got close to the cave entrance he was shot point blank in the head and fell.
On seeing their leader killed Lieutenant Henry Lysons and Private Edmund Fowler of the 90th Perthshire Volunteers, who were Wood's escort attacked and cleared the cave. For this action both would later receive the Victoria Cross. Campbell was carried down the hill and buried whilst the battle was still raging.
I am going to compress the time line slightly for this vignette as Campbell was already dead on the ground as Lysons and Fowler got there.
The foreign service can be fitted to Campbell, falling off his head at an angle or on the ground. The base is temporary for this figure. Lysons and Fowler are well on from Ariel and I must thank him hugely for turning my pose and brief into a great figure. You are the best my friend and a great likeness.

cheers
Richie
