apologies mick and apologies to one and all, I have been ill with MAN FLU, which I am sure you will all sympathise with, apart from my caring wife who says it is just a head cold. I appreciate ALL help and advice, so please excuse my delay in answering. thank you/badger

Dreadful this manflu, my old man used to swear by a Rum bandage,
sticking plaster on the thumb and a large rum.

i have heard that drinking a whisky called LAGAVULIN is very good for MAN FLU so I will give it a go and let you know how I get on /badger

as for the figure , I have lengthened the kilt, and raised the right arm, and increased the fringe on the bonnet and increased the plume, similar to the painting, I know these paintings have a lot of faults , but they are impressive. /badger

hi mick,I am painting the colours, but the moulding of the flag has sections which someone has painted with the words balaclava andi think cawnapore above it,this looks good but different from any images of the flag, do you have any illustrations or advice on painting the flag,if you can help at all, I would be gratefull. thank you/badger

If I can just throw in my tuppence worth, Balaklava is always spelled with a K in the Regiment and on the colours. Those French battle honours belong to the 91st, the 93rd were not involved in the Peninsula. On the painted model the spat buttons look quite dark but they would be white or bone, it's probably just shadow though. I have images of the old colours at home, I'll try and dig them out.
