Thanks for noticing, Jeff.

I’m using artists’ oils for my flesh areas. After I finish painting the flesh tones to my satisfaction, I allow them to dry for 3-4 hours. Then I come back and stipple in a little beard stubble using an old, cut down paint brush and Mars Black paint. I apply only a tiny amount of paint to the brush, and then wipe most of that off on a paper towel. It is essential that the brush only have a tiny amount of paint on it, or you’ll make a complete mess of your previous work.

This is not that hard to do in this scale if you work slowly and make sure that you load your brush with a minuscule amount of paint. I hope that this explanation helps.

Cheers,
Kurt

Kurt, Smashing good job on the 3rd Hussars. (y) Love the facial details and the shako! You are certainly in a good place with your painting! Looking forward to see this completed! Thanks for sharing your work!
