vous avez raison c'est un monde très triste. :(

It's great having a Hobby and a place like the planet where people from every corner of the world can come together and form bonds of friendship and brotherhood.
I for one am very grateful and thankful to be part of this wonderful hobby and of this Planet.

Wong, Exenefon and Marc , thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words.

Marc this is how a I paint reds:

a} Undercoated with Joe Sonja's Napthol red. acrylic paint.
B} mixed Cadmium red + Cadmium red deep for base color.
c} medium shadow, Cadmium red.
d} deep shadows, Alozzarin crimson.
e} extreme shadows, Chrome green.
f} medium highlight, Cadmium red.
g} extreme highlights, Scarlet red.
h]} Put figure in oven to dry at a low temperature of 140 degrres for a couple
days to eliominate the sheen.

I hope this helps

Happy New Year!!

Roc, What a nice figure!!! I like the base as well.

Just a greet from the Netherlands

Hi Roc,

so sorry for my lateness.............great painting my friend ;)

I'm starting this superb piece along with PosteMilitaire's Mamluk, soon :( ........

I know I'm crazy.........two 90's at once........what the heck, it would be as much fun as it would be painstaking...........s-b-s's on both  !!

Hey Roc, great pics as well!!!

Best Regards,

Ray.

Ray, thank you my friend, I appreciate your words of encouragement.
You are going to have a lot of fun painting this figure, and I know you will do a masterful job on both figures. ;)
Just promise me you will post them on the Planet for all of us to see and admire. :thumb

Ciao

Roc. :)

the overall presentation of figure and base looks terrific. I light the bright version of red u suse in stead the dark reds we usually see.. The base is also very well worked. BRAVO

Hi Roc,

consider it done my friend, that was my intention, and if I'm not mistaken I've already sounded that........however, that goes to any figure/project I do from now on..........I'll just do my best to share my meagre work with the world..... :(

Yesterday I posted on Steve's Prussian Hauptmann thread, were he was goaded to do an sbs and I concurred with that goading ( did you expect anything less from buddies  ?)..............it was mentioned that Bill Horan is doing something of the like somewhere here............can you please guide me to where I can find that please

Best Regards,

Ray.
