Hi all
many thanks for the comments they are much appreciated.

I have more or less finished the left arm, some touching up to be done and the edging on the cloak. the cloak is a bit shiny as the paints still wet

Hi All
havnt had much time to do a lot more what with work getting in the way, however i have finished the left arm, I was contemplating doing the gold pattern over the whole cloak but wasnt sure so any comments would be welcome

not really stippling is with a larger brush, and i often use stippling its a good technique, pointilism same application, much finer brush and it takes a lot longer

Paul is corect; stippling and pontilism is not the same really. Ponitilism involves the aplication of painting many, many, many, many little dots of color with a very fine pointed brush- like a 3/0.

The effects that can be achieved with pointilism for simulating textures on wool uniforms, felt hats, leather and such are very cool.

I did the pattern with gold enamel heavily thinned and a 000 brush, i also needed new glasses and a paracetamol after :0(
