Here's a simple, but I think effective diorama that I completed some years ago.
On the eve of the Battle of Watling Street, Boadicca watches the vastly out-numbered Romans forming up in the valley below,
while her tribal chiefs admire the designer Burberry travel rug she's "appropriated" to use as a cloak.
No doubt they all reckon that tomorrow's clash will all be just a bit of a dawdle.
All figures are 75mm white metal kits; 1 x from Alexandros Models, 1 x from Masterclass and 4 x from Pegaso Miniatures.
Diorama base is painted paper mache planted with static grass, trees, bushes and err, plants.
The standing stones were scratch-built from white goods packing material.
Those frames were digitally added for an animated slideshow - and I forgot to remove them before saving the final photos....Doh..!!
The sun-rays in the photos are the result of my cack-handed camera work - but by sheer accident they seem to work quite well.
Cheers

Excellent all around and a very nice scene.

John

Thanks for the positive feedback Matt and John - you too JasonB.
Like the vast majority of my stuff, it's really just a very simple little scene, (inaccurate warts and all), but I reckon it's certainly atmospheric - and a touch of imagination tends to do the rest.

Yesterday I saw the "The instruments of death, season 1/ep. 5" about Queen Boudica´s revolt and the battle of Watling street. You catch the right Feeling in your Scene. And the terrain is very good.(y)

Beautiful work very nice diorama

Mobo

Now I've noticed this one again, I really ought to post some decent photos of it. There's a few paint enhanced toy soldiers in there....

But there's also kits from Pegaso, Romeo and Draconia as well.

I'll get around to it; perhaps sometime next week.

You've certainly put in a huge amount of work.Very impressive indeed.Would you mind giving some more info on the 54mm samurai with the horned helmet ,holding the cross bladed spear?

Oda.
