Not sure if this is the right place for this, but thought I'd run it up the flagpole.

Recently took delivery of this 1/6 Legionary (text corrected here from Post title), from Atlas via El Greco. The 'SPQR' plinth is separate and additional. Photo here just has everything set together unglued, for the photo.

Big difference of course is that it's 3D printed - light as a feather. Currently unprimed so the resin colour is as you see it here. Detail is superb.

Working on another project at the moment so not ready for this yet, but looks like a challenge.

Two week lead-in time for delivery but seems worth the wait.

My first experience with 3D - anybody else tried it?

Only ever painted a 3D piece once, it was actually a Firefly space craft from the film Serenity. It was terrible, I ended up reclaiming the exterior with plasticard before I could paint it. That said I do have a 3D printer, youngest got it last christmas for me, still haven't plucked up the courage to use it!

Cheers Simon

One of my grandsons brought home a 3D-printed frog today apparently. Someone in his class has a printer at home and was selling them for 30p.

Hello Robbo the Roman looks amazing! beautiful bust!! you are ready to primer and start painting! the 3d resin is similar to other resins so no need extra materials use exactly what you use for resin or metalic models!

I'm working on my 4th 3D at present, and enjoy working on them.
I've been looking at this Roman bust myself, so I'll be following with interest.

A Centurion with an Imperial Italic Type D helmet with a transverse crest, mail armour, phalerae and vine stick would also look impressive...........
