Absolutely stunning. My favourite Napoleonic regiments. Oh yes please Gra. Moz has surpassed himself. Congratulations on a superb choice of subject. I am sure it will be a winner mate.

Hi all,
While the box art is being painted I thought I would share the initial image I gave Moz as a basis to the figure, also another from the Osprey book, Napoleons Mounted Chasseurs of the Imperial Guard, a great book.
A real colourful uniform I think you will agree
Best wishes

Not really a Napoleonicfigure painter I dont think I saw this on your stand Graham. I know it was there because yoiu said it was but there was so many lovely figures on the stand!
Super figure and perhaps one that could tempt me into Napoleonics.

Was lovely to meet you Graham and your dad does a great job minding the stand during your wanders!

Don

Likewise Don, great to meet you and the rest of the Scottish boys.
Yes, I agree dad definately earned a medal over the weekend :)
Best wishes to you

Very tempted with this at Euro, another top class release, it looks wonderful in the flesh (resin).

Great to meet you at the weekend Graham, I definately owe you a beer or three.

Alex.

Superbly sculpted. How about a British light cavalry officer in a similar pose with a suitably colourful uniform?

There really are no words to express just how amazing this sculpture is. Am ecstatic to see Moz starting to craft Napoleonic French figures since he does such a great job with the British. Man, this guy is having his own private Renaissance, putting out masterpiece after masterpiece (don't stop).

Superb bit of sculpting Moz, and excellent casting as usual Gra, this one is a must have!

Great to catch up with you fellas in the Southcliffe, it really does inspire me to get modelling!

All the best,
Jon.

Nice figure. I think Moz should slow up and be a bit more careful with the details though. The number of braids on the dolman should be similar to those on the pelisse and they are quite different here....unless you argue that there are a lot of dolman rows under the barrel sash. But that's my only problem and its a bit of a IPMS flashlight comment. The character is very nice and the setting is great too. I really lke his plume too.

Colin

Thank you all for your comments, I am very proud that Moz pulled out the stops for me on this.
Thanks Colin, I do know Moz spent a long time on this for me, it was planned last October and has sat with me for 4 months before moulding.
I count 11 on the painting of the dolman which matches what Moz has sculpted so he is accurate to that. As you state the sash is around the dolman waist.
Thank you though and I think it will be a superb piece once painted up.
Kind regards

I've just spent an entire evening trying to put the finishing touches to a 120mm figure. The last thing that remains is the bloody boot laces. Last night I tried useing fuse wire, what a waste of 3 hours that was! This evening I attempted to just sculpt them.....don't even go there I am so bloody cross (stronger expletives have been removed).

It's at times like these that I can really see what an incredible scupt Maurice has done here.

Look at the lace and knot work on the pelisse, and how the lace on the dolman correctly secures it. Look also at the barrel sash, correct in its construction, and not just coloured bands! And I can't even do one bleedin' boot lace!

Superb sculpt Maurice, an amazing bit of work and I've no idea how you have achieved such incredible detail.

Stunning!

Cheers,
Jon.

An unbelievable sculpt by Moz, and a beautiful job of casting by you Gra, to bring out all the amazing detail this figure has. I really like the face too, fits the pose, and has alot of character. Congratulations to the both of you, a truly incredible piece. Regards, SG:)(y)(y)
