Don't give up .............I was moments away from dropping this in cellulose thinners until I walked away and calmed down!!!!!!
I'm rarely happy with just a bland uniform , once the lace and other colours go on it seems to get better. Good luck!

Thanks Joe
Smooth transitions are much easier in oils than trying to 'force' too much extreme highlight and shadows as can be prevalent in some acrylic styles of painting as the latter cover too well.
