Amazing work David, I've been trying to get a red tunic nailed today and just when I think I have it, I see this. Oh well, looks like another trip to the Power Spray bath :(

Don't give up .............I was moments away from dropping this in cellulose thinners until I walked away and calmed down!!!!!!
I'm rarely happy with just a bland uniform , once the lace and other colours go on it seems to get better. Good luck!;)

This is a lovely piece! Your brushwork is clean, neat and with smooth transitions between the lights and darks. A real dandy (y)!

Smooth transitions are much easier in oils than trying to 'force' too much extreme highlight and shadows as can be prevalent in some acrylic styles of painting as the latter cover too well.:smug:
