The cape is amazing Ivo - thanks for the step by step photos. If I might ask, what material did you use to make the cape and what tools/technique did you use to manipulate it into those wonderful folds?

Thanks in advance for sharing your work and expertise,

Brian

the cap is done using the same lead foil that you can find inside the MM kits, obviously I get a bigger piece. To work and make folds I use a philatelic tongs returning the fold on themselves as many time I consider necessary

Thanks Ivo - and great job again. Can't wait to see the finished product.

That's going to look wonderful. The foil is a very old trick , but one of the best ever.

afer starting to paint the cap I discovered that the collet was wrong... I simply modify it

hre the drawing of the cap

here a reenactor version

and hre the modification

here the painting done in acrilics, I choosed a greysh green instead of grey for the cap to have more unifroity of the colours.

the facings are "capucine" of the 23rd rgt, The same commanded by De Marbot during the ussian campaign

next step is the Horse, we have to consider that we are in early winter, horse has got long hair.

I tried to paint the horse in thsi condition, with winter hair. I paint it mixing the oil colour with Oleoplasto from W&N

here the result
