Check shirt

Hi Guys,
I have one of the great Stormtroopers 60th Royal American Rifles Busts and would love to paint it with the check shirt like the box art has. However this is not something I have tried before and it seems a bit intimidating, do any of you guys have any tips about to paint this please? Many thanks.

Have a look at the Painting Tartans tutorial in the Articles tab at the top of the page. I am sure you could adapt some of these techniques for the check pattern.
