A recent release from Stormtrooper Miniatures was a 1/9th scale bust of a Cherokee Indian. Sculpted by Carl Reid and painted by Sang eon Lee this resin kit consists of 11 resin parts.
Arriving in Stormtrooper's traditional heavy white cardboard box with all parts sealed inside a bubble-wrap pouch. The small parts are sealed inside small zip-lok bags for their protection. The above bottom photo shows all the parts laid out for inspection.
Above you see various views of the main part of the bust. The amazing detail and likeness Carl is able to achieve is awesome.
Above you see various close-ups of the main portion of the bust showing the attention to detail Carl has achieved. Stuart has carried on this detail to perfection in his casting.
Above you see both sides of the left hand that has been cast separately.
Above you see both sides of the separately cast arms with the left hand holding the pipe bowl.
Above are both sides of the pouch showing the detail in the bead work at the top of the pouch.
Above is the front and back of the bottom portion of the blanket.
The top 2 photographs show how the feathers were packed with a small pieces of foam chip between the feathers to insure against breakage. The rest of the photographs show the feathered headdress in different angles.
The top photograph above shows the 2 earrings that attach into the holes that have been pre-drilled in front of each ear. The other part is the pipe stem. The bottom photograph is a scan of the color guide included with the kit.
Conclusion: One of the best Native American kits I have seen in a long time. Extremely well detailed with minimal clean-up required. Dry-fitting of parts was excellent. Highly recommended.
As you are the expert Guy in Native Americans I think when you say its one of the best we must believe you.
Saw this a few weeks ago at the SMC in Eindhoven and it is a stunner.
